Like the Radiating Sun - Chapter 1

"Adam, are you sure that this is a good idea?" Neil asked, as he tried to catch up with Adam. Adam nodded, the smile still plastered onto his pale face.
Neil narrowed his eyes. He didn't exactly agree with what Adam was about to do, but decided it best for him. Neil had no idea why though.

He continued to walk beside Adam as they walked to Adam's car. It was a chilly day in late March and Neil regretted not having a coat.
[i]Of course it's cold, we're in Canada...[/i] Neil thought, wrapping his arms around himself.

"Well, I'm off." Adam said, getting into the black vehicle.

"Adam?" asked Neil.

"Yes?" Adam looked at Neil.

"Think about what you're doing, make sure this is the right path.." They continued to stare at each other for the remainder of a minute.
Sure enough Adam nodded, murmured a goodbye and drove off to his destination.

"Naomi? Are you ready to go?" Adam asked, looking at his wife with nervous eyes.
She nodded and took a breath, trying to calm herself. She, too, was nervous. Naomi walked towards the door, purse in hand. Slowly, silently, she stepped into the cold wind of Ontario, Canada.
Wind blew all around her, making her shiver a bit. The wind penetrated her dark blue jean jacket and blew her hair into her face.

Naomi decide to get into the car quickly and walked over to it. She opened the door quickly and put her seat belt on, waiting for her husband to get into the car.
Soon enough, Adam sat in the car and closed the door, putting the keys into the ignition. The engine roared to life. Adam backed out of his driveway and made his way to the left.

Driving down the almost empty road, it was silent between the two as they made their way towards the orphanage. Not one of them would or could talk at the moment. Nervousness had overwhelmed their systems. Both of them were worried about choosing the right child....
