Like The Radiating Sun - Chapter 3.
Libby was apprehensive, edgy, jittery and any other synonyms for nervous you can think of. She knew what they were going to say, but she just didn't want to hear it.
The couple sat back down and the man sighed.
'There!' Libby thought, 'A sure sign they don't want her!!' Libby seemed fast to jump at the thought they don't want her. Well, the man only sighed..
In the other room, Eve had picked up her guitar and decided to play. At first she was to shy to play any louder, but she decided she was going to play a song of hers. She didn't write it, but it was one of her favourites.
As her fingers graced the strings, beautiful music filtered throughout the house.
"All this talk of getting old, it's getting me down my love..." She sang. She blinked away some tears.
"Like a cat in a bag, waiting to drown, This time I'm comin' down.." She tried as hard as possible to keep away the tears, but she was failing miserably.
"And I hope you're thinking of me, as you lay down on your side.." Tears started to fall onto her guitar and slide down the shiny surface.
"Now the drugs don't work, They just make you worse, but I know I'll see your face again.."
In the other room, the conversation had stopped the participants were listening intently. As Eve played the song and sang, the man mouthed the words along with her.
"But I know I'm on a losing streak, Cause I passed down my old street.." Without noticing, tears had also started to fall from his eyes as Eve sang.
"And if you wanna show, then just let me know, and I'll sing in your ear again.." The man slowly got up and pulled himself to walk towards the music.
"Now the drugs don't work, They just make you worse, but I know I'll see your face again.." the man hadn't noticed he had started to sing along with her.
"Cause baby, oh, If heaven calls, I'm coming too, Just like you said," the man drifted towards the music, finally making his way towards a closed door.
"You leave my life, I'm better off dead.." the man hesitated before opening the door. By now, the woman and Libby had followed him towards the music. The man opened the door quietly, so the person wouldn't hear.
"Now the drugs don't work, they just make you worse, but I know I'll see your face again.." They both sang together. Eve hadn't noticed the man singing. She finished the song and wiped away some of her tears.
Libby through all this was trying to figure out where the man's voice was from. She had heard it about a billion times before, but she just couldn't figure it out.
"That was beautiful." the man said. Eve looked up, a bit startled and embarrassed. She had no idea that the couple was listening. She was also startled by the fact that she knew the man. His face, his voice so, so familiar. She felt like she had known him all her life, but couldn't figure out how.
"I'm Adam Gontier and this is my wife, Naomi Gontier." the man said, gesturing towards the woman behind him. Adam reached out his hand and Eve stood, shaking it. She waved and smiled at the woman behind him. She smiled back.
"Well, we have to finish our conversation." Libby intervened, still anxious to hear what the couple had to say. Adam and Eve continued to stare at each other. Libby coughed.
"Oh, oh, okay." Adam said, smiling at Eve, then turning himself around do he could walk back into the other room.
As they walked back into the other room, Eve quickly took the other way around towards the stairs and raced down them. She knew that name and she was going to find out who it was.
After almost tripping twice down the worn stairs, she finally got to her room. Eve, as quickly as humanly possible, grabbed her One-X album and almost ripped the lyric book in half trying to get it open.
The words seemed to jump out at her as she read them. Like bright glowing stars burning with the intensity of a million suns. The words strangled her mind, suffocating her brain. Her eyes traced every single angle of every single letter.
'No,' she thought, 'No!'
Adam Gontier, she read. Lead vocals and guitar. Tears poured out like a waterfall as she examined the front cover and the picture.
It was him, her hero had come for her. Her intake of breath was shaky.
"Take me away.." she whispered.
Just then, Libby came running down the stairs, a huge smile plastered on her face.
"Eve!" Eve turned to the sound of Libby's voice.
"You just got adopted!" Libby said, taking Eve by the shoulders and hugging her.

In the dark
Im huddled in a corner
Sad and lonely
Emo and sick
If you can scream
Then you're alive
But then again
Who can scream
