Through The Woods I Wander

No votes yet

Through the woods I wander,
Trying to sneak to freedom and onward
I’ve put up with the beating from the master,
That only made me want out of here quicker

When is the war going to start?
When is the misery going to end?
Enough of this slavery, I want out of this hell.

There’s one more state to go through,
Before I’m free from this hell on earth.
My brothers didn’t approve of my decision,
But I went anyway, away from my family and friends, also my new masters.

When is the war going to start?
When is the misery going to end?
Enough of this slavery, I want out of this hell.

Through the last river and thicket I go,
And through the gloom of the woods,
I finally come upon a sign
Apparently saying I was free,
Forever and ever more.

I like to think that is more of a story than a poem. Either way, I enjoyed reading it.
