Im a huge 3DG fan and i try to promote the band
as much as i can but every time i mention them
everyone goes "who" it really pisses me off !
does anybody else find this ?

YES thank you for putting it into words i was a bit too timid to type at the moment...i'm still figuring out the thresholds of these forums and what will get reported, so i'm being very cautious at the moment...but yes, the emo label pisses me off when 3DG gets thrown under that banner. All these asshats thinking Pain is about cutting when Adam was talking about getting clean so he could feel anything again. Oh well.
Eh, I prefer it when a band isn't too-too popular...because when that happens then it isn't an escape anymore.
That's how I feel anyway.
And about the "emo" thing, yeah. People who don't like Three Days Grace because they think they're "emo" can go suck a dick.

Ya I know what you mean, all of my friends know of the band, they just dont like them cuz their "emo" .... thats when I really get pissed of... then I get in a huge dispute on what their lyrics abt.. and that they are totally not emo.. they still dont like them tho haha

Mmm.... i know only two people in my country who knows and like them
(both of the live more than 190 miles away) 
The rest just doesn´t know them at all.
I have a couple of web sites and i´always try to leave links and that sort of stuff so people know the band a bit more.
I guess it doesn´t bother me because most of the bands i like/d were unknown to many people. So i´m kind of used to it.
I agree with those of you who say it depens on the place you live in.... here the radio stations and TV chanels only play the music who is extremly popular.... or they play music in spanish. Most of the groups that become popular here are pop groups... it´s like people prefere rock in spanish and pop in english

Where I'm from three days grace actually just got popular about a year ago, when some t.v. stations and radio stations played never too late and pain. It was excruciating, but I got a lot of people into them.

Here in NL it's like there is only one cd shop that actually sell their cd's and that shop only has 9 shops through whole the country!!
I think it depends on where you live and what's available... I live in one of the least populated states - so there's only 4 radio stations... therefore, EVERYONE has Sirius or XM, and pretty much all of us rednecks love heavy stuff - almost everyone I know loves them. Also, age group - I'm a little older than the guys in the band even, but all the fans around here are my age. So it's interesting. Demographics.

It's been completely different for me. Pretty much everyone i talk to from MT knows three days grace and loves them.

i was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pissed at mi friend. so i was sayin 3dg is mi fav band and shes like "ew still? there so old!" and im like, wth!! they not old, and they commin out w/ new album. and shes like.... ohhh.... and im like, GERRR!! and ppl at school are just like... three days grace??? only ppl heard of them now cuz me and mi other friend started showin them 2 ppl

it happens a lot in australia. real music fans who search for good music, rather than just listening to the mainstream, clone crap that's all over the radio, have usually heard of them, but other than that, they aren't that well known. It also has to do with the fact that, other than i hate everything about you and just like you, their record company hasn't marketed any of their songs over here (even though they both did really well) and haven't really marketed albums either. so the only people who really know about them are fans who have been fans since the beginning, which is a really big shame because a lot of people are missing out on a lot of really great music, and a they are missing out on making more fans because their style music is pretty damn popular over here.

No, I'm the one who's paranoid. And I think Three Days Grace will be heard of A LOT once they release their smashin' album!
I know two people that know who they are, but i converted them! (my boyfriend and my friend) otherwise, no one. I'm kind of glad that no one else knows about them though, because as more people like them, it'll be "i'd like them more if they did this..." so TDG would have to change to suit everyone (or get forced into changing) and then they wont be the band that we know and love....
or maybe i'm just paranoid.

agree with breaking_ben there, i'm kinda glad they don't know about 3dg though, i sorta don't want them to be mainstream...it makes us a special group that can connect through their music, not just any preppy comformists that don't have their own opinions (no offense, i'm talking about the stereotypical comformists and i hate labels), but i respect their music taste

haha i've talked about them so much to my dad that when ever i go to say something about "the lead singer" he goes adam?. ..haha i turn my head in shame and laugh and go yup.
just hope with a passion that their new album will be a big hit over here in the UK !! ..#1. We will be able to buy the cd in a shop

I'm glad I'm like one of the few people at my school who knows about them and I'm like the only huge fan at school... one of my friends she likes the same music but the bands she likes the most are pretty well-known but they don't like them and she gets to hear it everyday and I just have a band and they don't care I like them cause they don't know their music
Okay, sure I want 3DG to have success and make lots and lots of money, but I would be so glad if nobody at my school had heard of them. (My school is filled with preps, and no offense to preps, but the ones at my school are nothing but conceited and think they're better than everyone else.) Most everyone knows who 3DG is and most everyone likes them, but the thing is, they're becoming more mainstream and that's exactly what I DON'T want. I guess I'm selfish and want them all to myself. =P

Yeah, I get it a lot too, especially when I wear the shirt I got at the concert. People will stare at it for a few seconds and then ask who they are. It is pretty aggrevating, especially since they are my absolute favorite band. But like Disturbia said, it depends on the demographic of the area and the kind of music that is popular there. All my friends who hadn't heard of them though, know them now because of me, because I will make them listen. My most recent convert is my boyfriend. He'd heard of them before, and liked a few of their songs, but now he's a big fan like me
haha yeah same here, i cant go a day without mentions three days grace or adam. ..if i just refer to 'him' when im talking to my friends they automatically now know that i mean adam haha. ..but otherwise everyone else has no clue..its sucks.

Usually people only know who they are because I rant on about them all day long :3 . However the situation has gotten better. I gess people finaly grew a brain.

the reason behind this is because of the demographic of poeple. It depends where you live and what type of music they listen to. If someone only listens to rap or r&b than their not going to know who Three Days Grace is. I'm the same way with Rap and R&b and stuff, someone will mention an up and coming rapper, and ill tell that person i've never heard of them before and they would look at me like i'm stupid. But Three Days is all aournd very well-known in North America, i live in Edmonton and pretty much everyone i talk to knows who they are, whether they like them or not.
its sad hw i live not half an hour away frm 3DG yet i have only met one person so far that knows who they are. >.<
but she knows ppl who noe them. i guess it spreadsss.

You have to remember everyone doesn't know everything.
Haha yeah I ask about Three Days Grace a lot. Most people know them, though. It's the other bands I like (The Trews for example) that many people don't know. And that's weird because The Trews rock and they're famous!
It used to be like that but in the last year a lot more people know who they are, A few years ago no one I knew did.
Alot of the people i talk to have heard of them but some dont like which I dont get. How can u not like them they are amazing. most of the people who like them are the ones that dress all emo and goth and are posers though

I'll never forget August 29, 2008!
It's kind of surprising actually, but most of the people at my school know of them and like them. Well, anyone I've mentioned them to.
But aside from them, yeah, I run into that all the timee. Especially anyone even 10 years older than me; they have no CLUE who they are.
yes there is just one more girl in my class who knows them too but furthermore almost everyone I tell is like who is that never heard of them etc. but I've got some other friends who knows them too
