First of all, the guys are still as nice as ever. They still take the time to sign autographs and take photos, even if you didn't get the Meet N Greet tix...so thanks guys!!!
My friend and I drove to Duluth from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area because I absolutely had to see the show! (I'm a big fan of all the bands that played.) I've missed the shows the last two times they were in Minneapolis/St. Paul due to personal reasons, but I've been a fan since I first saw them open for 3 Doors Down wwwwaaaayyyyyyyy back in the summer of '03. I've seen them perform three times since then and never had anything that bothered me until this show.
The guys played great!!! I always love watching Neil because he's always doing cute little things like twirling his sticks...but I don't think he appreciates that I call it cute, but hey, I'm a girl! lol Anyway, he was rocking it pretty hard cus I could see the platform shaking during most of the songs and he always plays with a lot of intensity and energy. Brad, Barry and Adam all played wonderfully too...and I love the way they would play off each other on stage. The intensity and energy the guys have on stage is always great.
Everything sounded good, looked good...except for some of Adam's singing. There were some songs where he would half talk, half scream through the songs. Yes, I realize that they've been on tour forever and do shows practically every night so it's a strain on his voice. And maybe it's just his new style of singing and it makes the songs a little edgier, but I don't think it suits his voice very well. Sometimes he was off pitch and it sounded like it was a struggle to finish some songs.
I don't mean to bash on Adam or anything because love his voice! I just want him to take good care of it so he'll be around to sing for a LONG TIME! So if it means touring a little less so he can rest his voice, I can deal with that. I mean, they came through here at least twice through the past year...seems like a lot of touring to me. What do you think?
I loved it...but...
