Here's what I imagine, and I've worked for 3 different record labels (one major and 2 indie) - if they're updating that they're fishing and relaxing, they're probably done recording now. That's the beginning they are referring to... now the fun begins at the label - mixing, mastering, producing the whole album, photography & artwork for the album, probably plans on the first video... then you've got the marketing team getting together with production and coordinating the release - and internationally as well, so that's a little more involved. There's the time it takes to file publishing and copyright registrations - media pressing and distribution to record stores - shopping singles to radio markets... merchandise design and stock... SO much work goes on behind the scenes, you wouldn't believe it.

I'm guessing since it's Jive, Fall of this year is probably a good guess - Jive is a pretty high-profile label, with artists like Britany Spears - you can bet there are strong deadlines and good people meeting those deadlines. I bet a single could pop up as early as this summer... just depends on what the release schedule looks like. And keep in mind, the whole IT HAS BEGUN thing... the suspense there - they've got some smart marketing gurus! We're all checking back DAILY, so it's working. They WANT us to get excited! And hey, I sure am!

A MUCH BETTER source for you guys is Billboard.com - and there are many links as well, like the Daily Variety and Music Connection... these are industry trades and have actual 'news' instead of just people making stuff up on Wikipidia... if there's any news about them, it'll be here - also look at Rolling Stone magazine. It's best to stay away from gossipy sources - go straight to the industry folks.

Hope that helps/explains a little... I'm not claiming to know, but I've been through a lot of album releases - they usually take 3 to 6 months on *average* after recording to release... typical for a big label is about 3 months if they've got a big crew.

There is really no telling when the new single is going to drop but when it does it is going to be awesome...and for those wondering if it will be as good as animal i have become...think about the band we are discussing here...they havent made a bad song yet but even when they do its TDG so it'll still rock

i think the update was just to say..the reason we're not updating is because there's nothing to update about. At least they're giving us something. I don't think it was meant to be anything we haven't heard.

i suspect, that my mid/end of july there'll be a single and video out
followed by a canadian tour, then a massive north american one, because they have SO many more fans this time around because of one x

ya i am with you on that. i have been checking the sight for news daily since i heard they were recording. i wish they would at least post something saying how they are doing in the studio. a new single would be amazing.
