Here lies:

"do not call IT rock!!!!"

RIP forever.

@ crazyhorseandtdgluver:

exactly and everyone has said this but they hav been labeled sell outs since Dookie came out.
ive been a huge fan of nickelback both early and newer material. nickelback just has songs that speak to my soft side with some of their songs. call me a pussy but i love soft songs

I think this is a very stupid and pointless forum to begin with.

@3DGOne_X

I agree, they still are pretty good albums, and I think Green Day deserves credit for the both of them, and I am not just saying this because I really like them, but they have definately made it to the top, considering that the band has been around for so long..

But, The Wall was definately a very epic album that will never be beat.

i was comparing what they r
rock operas
im not sayin theyre better than The Wall
The Wall is beyond amazing
but thats not to say that what Green Day did with American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown was horrible
they were good albums in their own rite

Like midnitecinderella I probably should be staying away from this forum, because Green Day is one of my favorite bands, alongside TDG, and I don't give a f*ck if people think they are the biggest sellouts on the face on the PLANET!

I'd like to know why you think they are sell outs?

@Nirvana she wasn't comparing the albums to eachother: she said that she likes rock operas BECAUSE of The Wall, and that is what Green Days last 2 albums were, rock operas.

WOW.... This is definately one I'll have to keep my mouth shut on... Nickelback is one of my favorite bands.... I think your hearing the music they are playing on the radio because half of the stuff they sing they CANT put on the radio..... I am definately proud to say I am a fan of theirs and very happy to be adding another concert to my belt in May... Im done saying my peace.... =)

i no u didnt just compare The Wall to any of those s***ty albums by green day wow that all that needs to be said wow

the character storylines in the American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown albums r know as Rock Operas. Rock Operas hav been personally my favorite types of albums because of Pink Floyd's The Wall. to me there r no such things as "sell outs". the term "sell out" is complete utter bulls***.

Ok, I am going to give my opinion on this "who is the worst sellout topic". If you disagree with me, that is fine, but I am not saying this to start any arguements. I am just stating my opinion.
Yes, Nickleback are sellouts, and so are Green Day. I like Green Day very much. Nickleback? Not so much. See, Nickleback is still a younger band (not as old as Green Day), but they have gone pretty much downhill. Green Day? Well, they have been called sellouts for ALL of their years. So for people to call them complete sellouts now is no suprise. The band has stated that they don't give a sh*t if they are called sellouts. They have even ridiculed NB. NB has written plain lyrics now for their past two albums. Yeah, people might think that Green Day hasn't done much better, and honestly, they haven't, but at least they keep their story sort of interesting. With NB, it gets kind of annoying, honestly.
Anyways. There is never going to be another Dookie, or Nimrod, or Insomniac. You have to face that fact. The 3 band members are now nearing thier forties, (for Gods sake the lead singer is 38 years old), and you can't expect them to write about how they hate the world and sex and other things like that. They wrote Dookie and their other albums during that time (Nimrod, Insomniac) when they were in thier early twenties. They were dopeheads, doing drugs and other stupid crap. So were they going to write about anything "straight"? Probably not. Look at the song "Longview". Now, they have grown up in a sense; in some ways that people don't like. Yeah, i'll admit it, I am not a big fan of the musical myself, but a lot of people think that the cast was only used for "21 Guns" when actually the cast has been around since AI came out. Are they focusing too much on the cast? Yes, they are. Do they need to focus on picking better single choices? Yes. Do they MAYBE need to travel away from the "two character" storyline on their two latest albums and stick to just writing about random things and stupid sh* t? Possibly.
Again, this is just my opinion, and you can agree or disagree with it.

ooops, double post

Nickelback really should be called pop rock. But yes, they are considered rock. Every 5 minutes a NB song is played....Sort of annoying, but people around here think they are the best band in the world..

@Nirvana, wow, you must really hate Green Day because of that musical....

it dont get any worse than nickelback and new green day i cant even listen to there old stuff anymore it just pisses me off

Nickelback is definitely not pop...some songs they have are mainstream but they're still hard rock. And most pop stars do sell out...I don't see how it could be worse than Nickelback or Green Day

nickelback should be called pop first off just like coldplay or kings of leon just cause they play a solo every once in awhile doesnt make the rock any more sure it did in the 80's but were long past that o green day r sell outs o and arvil not a sell out shes just always been pop thats not as bad as wat nickelback and green day did

Yeah, Future Shop here in Canada sells a special edition of Night in the Ruts for about four dollars...probably the cheapest CD in store. Since it's special edition, it doesn't have the B-side so all nine songs are in sequence

no i only hav 8 i seperated them into catagories
and u hav night in the ruts?!
i can only find that one on ebay
im trying to collect all aerosmith cds

So about 16 altogether? Nice...I've only got "Night in the Ruts"

8 cds
2 live
3 studio
and 3 compliations/greatest hits

Aerosmith

of metallica or in general?

How many of their albums do you have?

Aerosmith has way more thats only some
Metallica not as much as Aerosmith

So Aerosmith has at least 135 songs...that's a lot. I think that's more than how many Metallica songs there are.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith isnt close to the amount of songs of Aerosmith i hav
i hav 135 songs

Haha I bet you probably heard those on Guitar Hero Aerosmith..."King of Rock"? Not at all!

I only know 2 Run D.M.C. songs
kings of rock (weird i know) and their cover of walk this way

@ 3DGOne_X:

Man, Run-M.D.C. is terrible! "Walk This Way" is a good song but seriously...collaborations with pop/hip-hop artists never turn out very good.

Nickelback is rock. What do you think it is? Rap? Hip Hop? Are you saying they deserve their own musical style such as "Nickelback" branching out into "Post-Nickelback" and "Melodic Nickelback"? Excuse the sarcasm (well not sarcasm but I dunno what other word to use...). I will be perfectly honest with all of you, and you can hate me if you feel like it, but:

Yes, Nickelback are sellouts and don't deserve to have the popularity they have. But I don't think they suck. I am no fan of their ballads ether, and sure their lyrics may be simple. Big deal. Not everyone can be a Nirvana, Three Days Grace, or any other great band you can think of. I am tired of people over-dramatizing it. There is a difference between being sellouts and being the worst musicians on the planet. Once again, just my opinion.

its not the first time and i wont argue it
i mean linkin park did an album with jay z
30 seconds to mars did a song with kanye west
sometimes it can help the band. i mean when Aerosmith first came back in the 80s, their videos werent getting played till Joe Perry and Steven Tyler recorded Walk This Way with Run-D.M.C. and that really got them attention on MTV

Hate to say it, but Nickelback is DEFINITELY rock. What what you saying? I don't understand. A song with Timbaland? I know Chris Cornell worked with Timbaland for his latest solo album, and it was horrible.

yeah i hate nickelback too >.< totally sucks, this fat kid use to brag a lot about going to their concerts and yeah, i wanna kik his ass!!! that dumbass is annoyin, and who brags about seeing a nickelback concert??
